VirtForce Military Spouses Excel with Aira

VirtForce Partners with Aira to Employ 100 Military Spouses in 2019

VirtForce’s most popular virtual position is an Agent role with Aira, a business that connects those who are blind or have low vision to a trained professional Agent dedicated to enhancing their everyday experience. In April 2019, VirtForce partnered with Aira to refer 100 qualified Military Spouses as potential candidates in just one year. Aira’s commitment to hire 100 Military Spouses is permeating the Military Community.

Aira’s Agent position offers Military Spouses both CONUS and OCONUS the opportunity to make a respectable income and work remotely according to their own schedules. But, perhaps the best part is the opportunity to give back and perform meaningful work that positively impacts the lives of others. Perhaps the altruistic nature of this position is why the Agent Role is so successful within the Military Spouse Community.

VirtForce asked Aira Agent Hiring Manager, Kyle Kozlowski, why the company values Military Spouses as employees. Kyle replied,

“Aira values military spouses, most importantly, for their loyalty, resilience, and reliability. Military spouses and veterans are a growing portion of Aira’s agent population and are integral to our success. Military spouses know what it’s like to face adversity, but more importantly, how to overcome it. They build upon their skills with every move such as using Google Maps to familiarize yourself with a new city, coordinating the timing of furniture delivery, making new friends, and finding a new doctor. It is the attention to detail, coupled with problem solving skills, that sets military spouses apart from the rest and are great characteristics to have as an Aira Agent.”

We know our readers care about what the right candidate looks like. So, we asked Kyle to share the profile of the ideal candidate. Kozlowski says,

“Aira is looking for someone who is tech savvy, great at multitasking, and resourceful in finding solutions to the variety of tasks that Explorer’s will ask to complete. This person should be able to demonstrate superb customer service skills, have remote work experience, is a self-starter, and is also familiar with common software programs such as Zoom, Slack, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office. Every call is different, so the agent needs to be open minded and prepared to tackle any challenge presented.”

While it is rewarding and fun to work at Aira, the company also encourages Agents to be the best version of themselves they want to be. Developing leadership and time management skills are built into the Agent experience at Aira. The organization also encourages team members to step outside of their comfort zone. This could mean learning how to make queries in Excel or mastering the skill of multitasking by routing an Explorer in the correct direction, checking the weather, and seeing if there are any flight delays—all at the same time. Aira is growing and they look for those who thrive in this environment for advancement.
